Device description
PROFILTER-PROJEKT’s sand scrubber separator is the best solution for treating sand separated from wastewater to the required high quality, as a result of a combination of vortex and gravitational forces in a conical-wheel tank design. The unit acts as a sand separator integrated with a sand scrubber. The so-called sand pulp from sand traps or other process equipment enters the sand washer through an inlet port located in the upper part of the machine. In the tank, the sand suspension is washed of the organic part using special directional nozzles. In addition, this process is assisted by a slow-speed agitator with a motion opposite to the washing system. Eventually, the mineral parts (sand) settle to the bottom of the tank, and some of the organic matter flotsam towards the overflow and outflow pipe (the washed organic suspension is returned back to the treatment process). The lagging sand at the bottom of the unit is removed by means of a screw conveyor. The screw conveyor is controlled by a hydrostatic sensor mounted in the bottom section of the sand scrubber. During transport, the sand is dewatered.
